Dr. Thomas is a board certified psychiatrist who specializes in child, adolescent and adult psychiatry. He provides clinical evaluations and management for patients struggling with many different mental health disorders, including those with symptoms of anxiety, depression and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Dr. Thomas joined Peachtree Psychiatric Professionals in 2003 and became a partner of the practice in 2011.

Dr. Thomas was raised in Newnan, Georgia. He graduated from the University of Virginia in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry. He received his medical degree from Mercer University School of Medicine in 1998. Dr. Thomas completed general psychiatric residency and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship training at Emory University School of Medicine in 2003. He is Adjunct Assistant Professor for the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Emory University School of Medicine and actively supervises fellows in residency training in child and adolescent psychiatry. Dr. Thomas has also been on the advisory boards for Skyland Trail residential and day treatment program and the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA).

Dr. Thomas is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and has additional board certification Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, American Medical Association and American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. When asked about his approach to psychiatric treatment, Dr. Thomas stated he takes “a biopsychosocial approach that addresses the medical, psychological, and external factors that can impact mental health.”

In his spare time, Dr. Thomas likes exercising and listening to music. He enjoys watching sports, including the University of Virginia teams and the Atlanta sports teams.
