Turns out smiling really is good for your health! One of my very favorite websites, Berkeley’s Greater Good, recently reviewed an article published by Psychological Science that details the powerful stress busting benefits of a genuine smile. One hundred and seventy college students were asked to complete stressful tasks while their heart rates were monitored. It turns out that those students who were asked to smile, and genuinely did so, were able to calm down and recover from these tasks much quicker than those who did not. So, why not use your IMPROVE skills and crack a smile or two today?Smile! It’s Good for Your HeartSarah DonniniIntensivley Trained DBT Therapist ;
