Ins and Outs for 2024

As the first month of the New Year draws to a close, we might have a good idea on what is working for us and what isn’t doing anything for us. In 2024, let’s take a turn into things that are filling our water cups and planting seeds rather than drying up everything. Here are the INS and the OUTS to have a year about overflowing our cups and never letting them run dry:

In:

  • Slow mornings: let’s start taking our time in the morning and creating a routine that doesn’t have us immediately rushing to our obligations

  • Saying no: Over planning yourself is a quick trip to burn out, even when it’s hard, it’s okay to just say no

  • Going to therapy: let’s remember that talking about our stuff is COMPLETELY fine

  • Creating a schedule: knowing when and where to be helps us not feel extremely overwhelmed

  • Doing what works: if that’s all you can do in a moment then do it

Out:

  • Letting other people’s emotions choose our emotion

  • Unhealthy coping skills- sure buying your entire amazon cart is fun in the moment, but we might not love what our bank account looks like after

  • Putting things off till last minute- this ultimately just causes stress, let’s plan ahead

  • Feeling ashamed about needing therapy

  • Staying up all night- our bodies NEED sleep, so be kind to your body and mind and give it time to rest

While some of these things might be hard to do at first, it’s all about creating healthy habits to ensure that the mind, body, and soul are replenished this year. You can’t plant a garden without water, so fill your cup in 2024 :)
