David m. halverson, MD
Dr. David Halverson graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2001 and the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in 2013. He completed general psychiatric residency training in 2017 and forensic psychiatry fellowship training in 2018 at Emory University School of Medicine. He is board certified in general psychiatry and forensic psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Halverson is a member of the American Medical Association, American Psychiatric Association, Georgia Psychiatric Physicians Association, American Academy of Psychiatry and Law, Association for Threat Assessment Professionals, and the National Guard Association of the United States. He is Adjunct Assistant Professor for the Emory Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. Prior to medical school, he worked as a human resource professional for large corporations, including Korn/Ferry and McKinsey & Co., in recruiting, retention and human capital evaluation. He was in active duty as a Naval Aviator and has over twenty years of experience as a military officer. Since 2010, Dr. Halverson has worked in Army Medicine and performed mental health evaluations, fitness for duty evaluations and crisis management. Through his risk assessment experience, along with his certification of the WAVR-21, he assesses for workplace violence, fitness evaluations, and management plans as needed.
