Leah Jones, MD
Dr. Leah Jones attended medical school at the University of Virginia School of Medicine in 2015 and psychiatric residency at Thomas Jefferson University in 2019. She completed forensic psychiatry fellowship training at Emory University School of Medicine in 2020. She is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and has additional board certification in forensic psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Jones is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, Georgia Psychiatric Physicians Association, American Academy of Psychiatry and Law, and Association of Threat Assessment Professionals. She is Adjunct Assistant Professor for the Emory University Department of Psychiatry, where she teaches forensic trainees. She has experience in corrections in Atlanta jail settings, where she has provided risk assessments, clinical evaluations, and treatment to inmates. She has evaluated pre-trial detainees on the issues of competency to stand trial, criminal responsibility, sentencing recommendations, and bond evaluations. She has evaluated and treated worker’s compensation patients with a variety of workplace injuries and is trained in the WAVR- 21 to assess workplace risk. She has a special interest in evaluating women who are struggling psychiatrically in the workplace, assessing mental health or dual diagnosis needs, and providing return to work plans or treatment recommendations for alternative work placements.
