Michael C. Hilton, MD
Dr. Michael Hilton obtained his medical degree from the University of Alabama, Birmingham in 1984 and completed psychiatric residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in 1989. Dr. Hilton completed forensic fellowship training at the University of Maryland in 1990 and is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, member of the Georgia Psychiatric Physicians Association and a member of the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals. He has over thirty years of experience performing dangerous risk assessments and experience previously in a correctional setting at Patuxent Institute. Dr. Hilton has extensive experience in forensic psychiatry as an examiner for worker’s compensation, personal injury in civil settings, return-to-work and psychiatric disability, child custody, and guardianship. He regularly preforms independent medical examinations for psychiatric issues that arise in the workplace. Dr. Hilton performs assessments for criminal cases to address issues of competency, insanity, mitigation, and pre-sentencing recommendations. He has given expert testimony across state, federal and international jurisdictions. In addition to his training of the WAVR-21, Dr. Hilton integrates all of his forensic training and experiences for assessing workplace violence risk, along with providing fitness for duty evaluations if needed.
