Sanjay Shah, JD, PHD

Dr. Sanjay Shah completed his juris doctorate at Villanova Law School in 2011 and his doctorate in psychology from Drexel University in 2013. He also completed a postdoctoral fellowship in forensic psychology from the Emory University Psychiatry and Law Service in 2014. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, American Psychological Association, Georgia Psychological Association, American Psychology and Law Society, and the Association for Threat Assessment Professionals. Dr. Shah serves as Adjunct Assistant Professor for Emory University School of Medicine. He has correctional experience at the Fulton County Jail, where he evaluated and treated inmates requiring competency restoration. In his private practice, he has conducted risk assessment evaluations on criminal and employment cases. In addition, he has performed risk assessments as a forensic psychologist for the state forensic inpatient units and for the state as an outpatient evaluator. Dr. Shah has graduate training and research in risk assessment and has multiple publications in the area of risk assessment. In his private practice, Dr. Shah performs evaluations for pre-employment, fitness for duty, and border protection for the government. Dr. Shah utilizes the WAVR-21, along with other psychological measures, when performing risk assessments for the workplace and consults with human resources and employee assistance programs to assist in management plans when needed.
