ABOUT

Dr. Halverson is a board certified psychiatrist who treats adults with psychiatric illnesses, including mood, anxiety and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Dr. Halverson incorporates multiple therapies into his treatment, including psychodynamic psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).  

Dr. Halverson joined Peachtree Psychiatric Professionals after completion of forensic psychiatry fellowship training in 2018. 

Dr. Halverson is from Wisconsin and graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Oceanography in 2001. He received his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in 2013. In 2017, he completed general psychiatric residency training at Emory University School of Medicine, where he served as chief resident. Additionally, he completed forensic psychiatry training at Emory in 2018. Since then, he has served as Adjunct Assistant Professor for the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Emory University School of Medicine. He teaches medical students and psychiatric residents on topics in the field of psychiatry and the law. 

Dr. Halverson is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and has added board certification in forensic psychiatry. He is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, Georgia Psychiatric Physicians Association, American Medical Association, and the American Academy of Psychiatry and Law. 

Dr. Halverson is a military officer in the Army National Guard. He is a den leader for Cub Scouts and school volunteer. He spends most of his free time focused on family and loved ones. He enjoys exercise and the Atlanta music scene.
