ABOUT

Dr. Leah Jones is a board certified psychiatrist who treats adults suffering with psychiatric illnesses, and she utilizes a combination of medication, psychotherapy and behavioral skills and coping strategies for treatment. Dr. Jones has a special interest in mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and trauma spectrum disorders. She joined Peachtree Psychiatric Professionals in the summer of 2020. 

Dr. Jones is from Georgia and graduated from Yale University with a degree in literature in 2010. She graduated from medical school at the University of Virginia in 2015 and completed psychiatric residency training at Thomas Jefferson University in 2019. In addition, Dr. Jones completed forensic psychiatry fellowship training through the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at Emory University School of Medicine in 2020. 

Dr. Jones is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She is a member of the American Medical Association, American Psychiatric Association, American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law, and Georgia Psychiatric Physicians Association. 

In treatment, Dr. Jones focuses on the “whole person” approach, which takes into account the patient’s work, family, and life engagements. The multifaceted approach allows for treatment that is targeted to symptom relief so that people can get back to functioning at their best. 

In her spare time, Dr. Jones enjoys playing board games and puzzles, knitting, crafts, and visiting national parks.
